There are three main types of Prosecco: sparkling (Spumante), semi-sparkling (Frizzante) and still (Tranquillo), depending on the perlage. Rather than going through the traditional method like champagne, Prosecco is made via the tank method. Prosecco is made by a slightly different process than champagne, and comes from the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia wine regions of Italy.
